4th International Summerschool for Big Data June 30th to July 6th 2018 in Leipzig

From June 30th to July 6th 2018 the two in Germany based Big Data Competence Centers ScaDS Dresden/Leipzig and BBDC are organizing the fourth international summer school on Big Data and Machine learnuing in its series of summer schools (20162017). The event aims at graduate students, Ph.D. students, researchers and practitioners  starting or being active in the fields of Big Data and machine Learning. Within the program, we offer inspiring insights into the area by selected keynotes from international experts combined with industrial talks.  Prior to the summer school, there will be a "streamline" hackathon for hands-on development of an application for real-time analytics of streaming data.  Furthermore, there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas and to discuss the topics with other participants and speakers. The summer school also hosts several social activities such as a city walk and a dinner in a traditional restaurant.

3rd Big Data Summer School - Call for Participation!

Following on from our two successful previous Big Data summer school events in Dresden and Leipzig, we are pleased to announce that we will be running another school this year from 19th to 25th of August.

This time, the school is closely organized together with the Berlin Big Data Center (BBDC) and will take place in Garching (near Munich) in temporal proximity to the VLDB conference.

The school aims at students, graduate students, as well as  academic and industrial practitioners and researchers starting or being active in the field of Big Data. Within the program, we offer inspiring insights into the diverse field of Big Data by selected keynotes from international experts combined with possibilities for practical sessions.

Big Data in Business workshop - 15./16. Juni  2017 in Leipzig

6th International (online) Summer school on AI and Big Data

News: Online-Event from July 7th and July 8th, 2020

We are happy to announce that the German Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig) will host the sixth international summer school on AI and Big Data. Due to the COVID-situation we decided to host our first online summer school. The event aims at graduate students, Ph.D. students, researchers as well as practitioners starting or being active in the areas of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or Big Data. Within the online program, we offer inspiring insights into the area by selected research keynotes from international experts combined with industrial talks.

A summerschool needs to provide opportunities to exchange ideas and to discuss the topics with other participants and speakers. Within our program we will offer plenty of time to get in contact with the speakers and allow you to ask questions. Moreover on the first day of the summerschool we will organize our first online science speed dating. The idea is to also bring in social aspects, in an online setting. Within the speed dating, participants will be able to get to connect and partner with other international researchers.

Slides and Recordings

We are currently clarifying to what extent the slides and recordings of the individual talks can be made available. Please check back here from time to time in the coming days to find out more.
